How to create a new partition in windows?

Today we are going to learn the ways to manage your hard disk space via Disk Management application available Microsoft Windows. So without wasting much time lets get back to business.

• To Make a new partition in Microsoft Windows(i am giving screenshots of windows 7 and let you know if i'll get screenshots of other Windows versions as well), so the steps are- 

1. Search for Disk Management application in Start button(search Field)
2. You will find a option of "Create or Format hard disk partition".
3. Click on it. Now this is the application that you need to work on to create a new partition. Image of the application is given below.
   

4.You will need some adequate amount of free space in you Hard drive, if you have so the amount of free space available will be shown as

the free space is encircled and windows denotes it by green color.

5. In the case you don't have free space you can shrink any of the disk( I would suggest you to shrink logical disks and do not use system disk for this case). I will give steps to shrink a volume(or disk) in another post.

6. Now that you have free space in the hard disk you can create a new disk with it this will be added in the partitions and you do not need to modify any BIOS settings for it.

7.Right Click over the free space available encircled in above image you will see a option of "New Simple Volume" for a new partition to add.

A wizard of like this image will be shown just you need to fill in some Textfields ( like volume name,etc).

8. After finishing the wizard a new Partition will be created in your system.
